I´m have the feeling that almost all my past posts had something to do with fall. I should´ve done a series… Next year.
Anyway, I also realized that it has been a while since I posted my last Fitness post. So it´s definitely time for one.
My fitness routine changes from season to season and since it´s Fall I´m going to share my fitness routine for this season. It varies from week to week. It never stays 100% the same. Also, I am sport-freak and I´ve been doing different sport types for pretty much all my life. At the moment I am still doing horse-back-riding, but I want to exchange that for figure skating… let´s see… But other than that I ski in the winter time, I swim in the summertime and I go jogging/running in-between those seasons. I complete that with doing Yoga and Pilates all year round.
In my life I´ve played basketball for a while. I can play soccer, football and baseball, but not that good. All in all I have done pretty much and many different sports. I love to move and like almost every sport, except volleyball, I really dislike it… I´ve done a lot and I still do, it´s my life. Without sport I would be moody, tired and grumpy a lot and definitely not as happy as I am when I do do sport (do do;-)). What do you like to do? What sports do you play? Enough talking, let´s get into a week of working out/doing sport with me. I hope you enjoy!
Saturday/Sunday: I´m going to start with these two days, because that´s usually when I go to the gym. Depending how hard I workout in the gym and how sore I am, I vary my workouts during the week.
So let´s say I worked out pretty long and pretty hard, but I stretched a lot as well, so I will only be sore the next day. (Let me know if you want me to do a gym routine! I´d love to!) I love the feeling after a workout. I know I gave it my everything and I just feel amazing!
Every evening I do about 10-20 minutes of Yoga right before I go to sleep. I love the stretches, because I´m usually very tight after a stressful day. It let´s me let go of the day and wind down before I go get a good nights sleep!
Monday: I get home very late on that day and usually only do a really short Pilates workout (about 5 or 6 minutes) before I eat my dinner. I also do Yoga in the evening, as usual. But I really step back and let my body regenerate if i´m sore.
Tuesday: In the evening of Tuesday I either stay inside if it´s raining and do about 30 minutes of Pilates. Or I go running/jogging for 20 minutes and top that off with stretching and about again 5 or 6 minutes of Pilates. When I go running I usually start by walking fast, then I go into jogging and the main part of it is doing HIIT(High Intensity Interval Training), meaning I take turns sprinting and jogging. Also stretching is part of every workout I do, I always stretch afterwards!
Wednesday/Thursday: On one of those two days I go horse-back-riding. Depending on which day, I do about 20 minutes of Pilates the other day.
Friday: Friday is almost like Tuesday for me, just that I have more time. I do my HIIT running outside and when I get home I stretch and I do about 30-40 minutes of Pilates. If I´m sore the next day, I´ll just regenerate and do only my Yoga in the evening and go to the gym on Sunday then. My weekly routine really depends how my i push myself, how much I do and whether I´m sore or not, I really try to listen to my body.
That´s pretty much what I do. Please not that my Fitness is pretty good and I can do as much. If you´re just starting out, i´d recommend trying out a lot of different things and finding something you love to do. If you want to do Pilates, try to listen to your body, it´s going to tell you when it´s too much. Do what you can and you´ll improve anyways!
