I´ve been experimenting with granola bars for a long time. There are several recipes I like to use. I let my friends have some of a new recipe I tried one day. From that day on they kept bugging me what the recipe is and when I was going to make some more to share with them….;-) So here I am letting you in on my secret recipe;-) Hope you enjoy!
Btw. granola bars are packed with amazing things for your body (protein, minerals, vitamins…), they give instant, but also longer lasting energy, so they are also a great pre-workout snack!
What you need:
- 1,5 cups soft/dried dates
- 1 cup oats
- 1 1/4 cup of dried fruit and nuts
In a blender or with a hand mixer blend the dates so they have like a sticky consistency. Add the oats, the dried fruit and the nuts and knead everything together or you can also give it a blend, for me it worked better when I used my hands. Make sure that everything is mixed nicely and sicks together. Now transfer everything onto some parchment paper. I used the remaining bits of the parchment paper to mould and press everything into one giant bar without everything sticking to my hands. Once you have the size you want, place it in the freezer for about 2 hours. Take it out and cut it into little bars. Enjoy!
I’m definitely gonna try this at home. Your recipe sounds delicious:)
