Have you ever read the ingredients on the back of a chocolate bar? If so, you might have had a little less fun eating your bar and maybe have had a bad feeling afterwards. I personally have a lactose intolerance and therefore can not digest every chocolate. Plus I sometimes don´t want to eat it, when I see what junk there is in this bar.
So why eat the unhealthy chocolate you can buy, when you can make your own healthy version of it? Because chocolate is healthy for you!
Yep, you heard me right. Chocolate can lower cholesterol levels, prevent a cognitive decline and reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems.
IF you make your own… because added sugars and other oils aren´t good for you.
So how do you make your own chocolate? Let me show you.
What you´ll need for one chocolate bar:
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 cup cacao powder
- agave
- mould
In a water bath melt your coconut oil. Once melted, slowly add your cacao powder, you may have to use a sieve. Stir until there are no more cacao chunks. Now sweeten your chocolate with agave. Use as much as you desire.
As a last step: pour your chocolate into a mould and freeze for 30 min.
Take out and enjoy!
You may have to keep your chocolate in your fridge if it´s hot in your house.
That´s it!! Now treat yourself to a piece of guilt-free and HEALTHY chocolate!!
