Fruit Monsters – DIY Halloween Snacks // Sunny’s Sweet Sunday

With Halloween approaching I found it sensible to post a Halloween Snacks post today. Like always, we´re going the super cute, super yummy and super healthy way😉

I found similar Fruit Monsters on Pinterest (if you didn´t know, I´m kind of obsessed at the moment with pinning food and travel photos! To find all of them click here!) and thought I could recreate them, switching things up a bit (like I always do;-)) So here we go: My super cute Fruit Monsters! Let´s get making them!

Fruit Monsters that are nuts;-) get it?! (okay…sorry…)

btw. if you´re interested in seeing the difference to my posts and photos (!) now, versus two years ago, click here for my Halloween Snacks post!

What you´ll need

  • apple
  • peanut butter
  • sunflower seeds
  • hazelnuts
  • strawberries

Start by cutting your apples into small slices. Then take two and spread peanut butter on one side of it.

Cut the strawberry into little slices as well and place a slice on the peanut butter, where you want the tongue of your monster to go.

Then place the the other apple slice on top, leaving a bit of space for the teeth, for which you take the sunflower seeds pressing them into the peanut butter, up right, to create claws.

Then cut a Hazelnut into two with a knife and spread peanut butter onto the back. Now stick the Hazelnut onto the top of the apple to create eyes. I find that Hazelnuts work best for eyes, since they have a little hole in the middle;-)

Place them onto a tray and be sure to grin back before you eat them!!

Happy prepping for Halloween!!
