Halloween is coming up FAST!! I’m talking real fast. My Halloween plans are all over the place, there are so many nice parties and events I could go to and I’m just not finished deciding yet.. but what is for sure: I am making treats, candy, cake…just FOOD for Halloween.
I’m making guilt-free, super healthy food that looks either so scary you are afraid to eat it (you do you, the rest stays for me then;-)) or are dying to get your sweet tooth satisfied with ’em.
If you haven’t checked out my Fruit Monsters Recipe, click here!
So I decided to dedicate the last days before Halloween to making wonderful snacks, easy, healthy and ones that are sure to make an impression. That means I am doing my best to post everyday until Halloween. So be sure to leave me comments for the posts you’d like me to do and let’s get excited for Halloween with these
Chopped Off Witch Fingers
They are paleo cookies that can be veganized. I got the original recipe off Pinterest, but put my own spin to them. There were actually people I offered these to who refused to eat them, as they thought they looked to real!!
And the recipe and the simplicity literally blew my mind!
So if you want to scare somebody you’d better get to making these! Enjoy!
What you’ll need
For the fingers
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1 1/2 tbsp honey or agave
- pinch of salt
- vanilla extract
- almonds
For the blood
- berries
- honey or agave
Directions
Make sure the coconut oil is soft, not too fluid and stir the honey or agave (if you choose to go vegan) with the oil. Add the flour, salt and vanilla extract and mix thoroughly. Make sure you have a mould-able dough. Place the dough in the freezer for about 5 min or in the fridge for 20min while you prepare the “blood”.
For this simply heat up the berries and the honey or agave in the pot stirring constantly. You can blend everything if you want to or just leave it as it is.
Transfer the “blood” into a bowl or onto a plate.
Take out the dough for the fingers and with little parts mould finger shapes. Add almonds for the fingernails (makes them super creepy;-)) and press into the dough to create the little lines in the knuckles. I used a fork for this.
Place the finished fingers onto a baking sheet and bake them for about 20 to 25 minutes at medium high heat in the oven or until they darken.

Take them out and let them cool fully. Then dip them or elegantly drown the fingers in blood;-) and enjoy the faces of the people you show them to!

Happy scaring and eating!!
